APN Settings for At&t for iphone, Android, HTC, Blackberry, Samsung and more…

Updated on July 20, 2012

I have listed the APN settings for At&t for mobile phones like iphone, HTC, Samsung Galaxy and Android smartphones in this page. If you are not under a postpaid plan subscriber or not under a phone service contract, or your phone is unlocked or has been jail broken configuring and changing your APN settings is still simple.

APN, also known as Access Point Name is the key and identifier to access the internet, wifi, 3G and 4G networks, WAP servers, MMS or multimedia messaging service, GPRS using mobile phones or devices with sim cards provided by mobile operators and telecommunication companies. Again, these are the default APN settings for now. Data may change anytime.

APN Settings for AT&T for iphone

This is the default APN settings for At&t iphone 3g, 3gs, iphone 4 and 4s users. Using a regular sim other than an iphone at&t sim and if you’re outside the US, leaving the username and password blank will usually do the trick.

New:

APN: wap.cingular
Username: (blank)

Password: (blank)

Old:

APN: wap.cingular
Username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1

Using Go phone Pay-as you-go sim card works for prepaid, too. Customizing the APN for iphone 4 Pay-Go at&t sim is discussed on this lovely page. How to enable data and internet on at&t iphone 4 prepaid.

APN Settings for AT&T for Android phones

For Android phones like Samsung Galaxy S2 and other Samsung Galaxy Series, HTC Inspire, HTC Vivid, LG Optimus and its series of mobiles, the apn settings is below. I have included the video for unlocked international Android phones too. It works to all Android gadgets. Set your apn settings manually by following this pattern below. Click ‘Save’ once you’re done.

Editing your at&t APN settings with the data below. Go to your Android Home Screen and tap Menu then Settings and go to Wireless and Networks then click APN (Access Point Name). Edit your stored data and make them like this:

Name: AT&T
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: (leave it blank)
Port: (leave it blank)
Username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
Server: (leave it blank)
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410 (or either be 310, 41 or 15)
APN Type: (leave it blank)

If you’re outside the country, make another APN by following these data.

Name: (you can type any name)
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: (blank)
Port: (blank)
Username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
Server: (blank)
MMSC: (blank)
MMS Proxy: (blank)
MMS Port: (blank)
MCC: (blank)
MNC: (blank)
APN Type: (blank)

APN Settings for AT&T for Blackberry

For Blackberry users, simply go to your phone’s Settings then to Advanced Options next to TCP

APN: blackberry.net or isp.cingular

Username: (none)

Password: (none)

Some tablets like ipad 2 3G with wifi also uses micro sim and configuring its apn settings is the same. If you’re using Globe micro sim, I have made this ‘how to activate Globe micro sim for ipad 2 3g’. Again, you have to turn off wifi before setting up new access point name. I always prefer prepaid than subscribing to a contract since wifi is everywhere now. It’s much cheaper and not too much headaches I mean if you hate those pricey monthly bills with lots of service fees and additional fees yada yada.
