How to Go to Boracay from Kalibo Airport
82
This post is to answer the question on how to go to Boracay from Kalibo airport? Because many travelers and interested people were asking from my 25 Activities and Adventures to do in Boracay Island Philippines hub. We know there are three ways on how to get to Boracay, two of which by air and one by Roro (boat and ferry). But in this post, I’m gonna discuss about going to Boracay via Kalibo airport with some directions, a map, and a bit of expenses.
Boracay Island in the Philippines is famous in the world for its powdery white sand and azure water. Not only it’s one of the best and most beautiful beaches in the world, it’s also so cheap and very affordable to go there and spoil yourself with a relaxing and exciting beach holiday. There are also hundreds of fun and adventure packages to dare you once in your life.
Since the most common mode of going to the island is by plane, the easiest of them is by Caticlan Airport. However due to fully book schedules especially during summer and working holidays, flights to Caticlan aren’t available on those times if not so expensive. Especially flights like Manila to Boracay or Cebu to Boracay, even from Singapore to Bora. The other option is take the Kalibo route.
Kalibo Airport. And for everyone’s information, Kalibo Airport is now an International Airport. It connects Kalibo to Taipei, Shanghai and Seoul as well. The airport’s runway can able to serve larger aircrafts like Boejing 737 and Airbus A320. Airlines like Cebu Pacific, AirPhil Express, Zest Airways, Philippine Airlines, and China Airlines transport people here.
Disadvantages
- Takes 90 minutes to Caticlan – you need to tire a bit while traveling on a van or bus
- Will cost you for a van/bus ticket
Advantages of going to Boracay via Kalibo
- It connects to few countries
- You can experience sightseeing on the way to Caticlan – see greenish hills, some rivers and amazing view like Bohol. Trip from Kalibo to Caticlan takes about 90 minutes.
- Some flights are cheaper in this route
kalibo airport - How to go to Boracay via Kalibo airport? It’s a 3-stop-trip – Kalibo airport, Caticlan Jetty Port, and finally Boracay. First, you have to book a flight of course either from Manila to Kalibo, Cebu to Kalibo, wherever you’re coming from. Once you get there in Kalibo, there are vans, coasters and buses to bring you to Caticlan Jetty Port. Van and bus services usually cost P150 per person. Once you get to the jetty port, you have to buy a ticket and pay for an environmental fee. It costs a total of P125. You’ll be then in Boracay’s white beach after 15 minutes. Once you’re there, there are lots of vehicles to cater you wherever you want to go. If you already booked your hotel, often they will pick you up there. If you haven’t booked any hotel yet, no worries, you can just stroll around and find the one that suits your taste.
Life is a beach! So visit as many beaches as you can.

twentyfive, the route from Kalibo to Caticlan is like the tropical version of the pacific coast highway in California. i would emphasize "tropical" so that they would found out for themselves. you know what, although not related to your topic but since we are already talking about plane routes, i have this sentiment that only visayas and luzon is favored. because, us here in mindanao have no direct route to either kalibo or caticlan. we had to go to manila or cebu. you know what we did? we flew from davao to iloilo then took the trip from iloilo to caticlan. it was a grueling 5-6 hour ride. we could have taken it from Manila but of course, we were on a budget. anyway it was a lesson learned. i wont recommend it unless you want to see the landscape of iloilo. i wish Gensan or Davao would soon have direct routes to some of the famous local destinations. like Legaspi for one. i want to go to Donsol...i hope someone who is connected to the airlines would be able to read my comment and would take action. if not feasible, at least explain why... great info you have and great hubs... (,")
twentyfive, another route problem. you there in pampanga have Clark with direct routes to our neighboring asian countries (e.g HK and SG). Ours here, finally Davao opened directly to Singapore to start this November 20. other than that, another connecting experience anywhere in the philippines... so sad. (,")
about your middle name being Perez.. i know for sure my father is an only child. but the Perez side in my family is from Leyte. i will check the lineage, maybe it will be traced back to Pampanga.. we'll see... (,")
yep! hub cousins!!! glad to have met you here. (,")

Hi twentyfive! Thanks for this hub. I know now how to go to Boracay without flying to Manila. It´s a pity that there is no flight from Mindanao to Boracay. I hope, one day our Many Pacquiao or any wealthy Filipino out there will build an airport which will transport us to Boracay from Mindanao. I enyoyed reading this hub and the comments of other readers. Thanks for sharing.
