How to apply for a job in Singapore?
If you’re a Filipino, it’s easier because you can reach Singapore in an hour flight. Airfares are usually low especially to some local and domestic airlines like Tiger Airways, Cebu Pacific, AirAsia, Philippine Airlines. Sometimes it costs 1500 roundtrip or 2000. On high peak, it reaches up to 5000 pesos and above. But really, it costs as much as a trip to Boracay so why bother. Requirements and documents you need when applying for a job in Singapore are:
- Resume or CV
- Authenticated Diploma
- Authenticated TOR (Transcript of Records)
- Work and employment certificates – from previous employers, must be related to the job you are applying
- Some certifications of trainings related on your career or job applying
- NSO birth certificate – you can apply for this online for free. But having this letter doesn’t guarantee you will have a job in SG.
- NBI Clearance

In most cases, they will grant you 30 days. Like any other country, you can always ask for an extension depending on your purpose. How much money should I bring with me when going to Singapore?
Because Singapore is one of the top most expensive cities in the world, the cost of living is so high. The ideal budget for a Filipino is 50,000 pesos in a week of stay, if he/she stays with a friend or a relative. If you will be staying in a hotel, you need more money for that. Remember, you also have other expenses like meals, taxi/bus/mrt fares, and some unexpected stuff. Also remember, you cannot bring more than 10,000 units for any currency to comply with the anti-money laundering. If you have 30,000 pesos, you better have them exchanged to US dollars or SG dollars. Bring your atm card or credit card in case of emergencies. You know that already.
